Who doesn't love Instagram? Documenting your life, one image at a time! You can get creative with the filters, hashtags and quickly get inspired with incredible images!
Let's talk about sharing your professional images on Instagram. First of all, do not use filters. We know it's becoming so common for you to overexpose your face or create extremely contrasted images with your favorite filters, but did you know that altering photographer's images is illegal? Altering any image that you did not take is illegal. Every image you take, you own the copyright to. Every image your photographer takes, they own the copyright to. Professional photographers can spend hours perfecting your images so when they are printed and shared online, they look the very best! Please do not degrade any photographer's work by adding filters. In such a digital age, photographers are relying on the internet and social media platforms to get their name out there and attract new clients. If you truly love you photographer and their work, show it how it is, how the photographer wants everyone to see it-beautiful. Now, if you truly believe you are creating better art with Instagram filters on your photographer's images, then you need to find a new photographer!

Now, let's talk about hashtags. With the square crop Instagram offers (unless you have a special app) it can be difficult to upload your image without cropping your photographer's watermark. So a simple #katebrownphotography will suffice! Let people know where your beautiful art came from! If you didn't love it, you wouldn't be showing it off, right? You can even throw in a little, "Ah, I love my images by #katebrownphotography" that would do too.
